Welcome to the Communities Improvement Association (CIA) website. The CIA thanks all it's partners and affiliates for helping us to be a service to the community. The CIA is a nonprofit organization that was set up to serve the River Region with emphasis on the communities of Millbrook, Coosada, Elmore, and Deatsville. It was started, then was incorporated in the late 1960’s in Elmore County. The Association was awarded its 501(c)3 status in 2007. Our mission is to promote education, prevention, and intervention services and programs affecting the health and welfare of the youth and elderly of Elmore County. With involvement from the community and its gracious support, we can fulfill this mission. Looking ahead, the CIA has adopted the scripture “…Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.”(Luke 6:38) Yes, we are all co-laborers in the community because we have the hope of a brighter future. We (CIA Board of Directors) invite YOU to invest in the tri city’s most valuable resource, “it’s people.”
