Give Back to Community -- make a difference!
The Communities Improvement Association (CIA) wants to keep the rich heritage that Sandtown School, then Millbrook Junior High School, has provided to the community. Those who built it would share the enthusiasm to know that it continues to serve its intended purpose of being a place to educate students.
CIA has set out on a quest to preserve the rich history that Sandtown School provides to Millbrook by continuing its heritage, "a place to provide education" through an after school tutoring and a Summer enrichment program for students who may fall behind or students who may want to get ahead. At present CIA has placed the site on the Register of Alabama Landmarks, which is described as a "prestigious listing of historic, architectural and archeological landmarks."
However, as a non-profit organization, funds are low, oft times none; therefore, CIA needs kind people like those of this community to volunteer and provide donations to help fulfil its mission to refurbish the building and make the campus vibrant again with education, youth play, and laughter.
There are some great folks that went ahead and your help is needed in creating a memorial in their honor. Please contribute to this cause to remember them.
I believe we can count on your support!
Send your tax deductible donation in memory or honor of someone, please provide name and service provided to the school. There may be other ways you want to help; such as, volunteer, purchase a membership, or send a donation to support CIA programs; mail directly to:
